Rampaul only picked up two wickets during the ODI series

West Indies pace bowler Ravi Rampaul will miss the Twenty20 series against New Zealand after returning home with a fractured thumb.

Rampaul sustained the injury during a training session prior to the fourth ODI in Nelson.

“Ravi has sustained a fracture and we are looking to allow optimal healing rather than pushing an early return,” West Indies physiotherapist CJ Clark said. “He will return home to allow the fracture time to heal and will commence fitness training in preparation for the Regional Super50 Tournament, starting later this month in Trinidad.”

It is understood that no one will fly out to New Zealand as a replacement for Rampaul.
