This would have been Afghanistan’s first tour of a Full Member nation
Afghanistan’s tour of Zimbabwe, which was scheduled to take place later this month, has been cancelled due to financial troubles.
Afghanistan and Zimbabwe were set to play a number of ODIs and Twenty20 Internationals, but the African nation does not have the funds required to host another team at the moment.
According to reports, Zimbabwe had been looking to move the series to Bangladesh, but that plan has also been scrapped due to all the political tension in the country.
However, a source close to Zimbabwe Cricket has revealed that the “demands of domestic cricket led to the cancellation of the tour”.
