“Let us see what he has to say before any final disciplinary action is taken against him”
Pakistan all-rounder Shoaib Malik may face disciplinary action after opting to play for the Hobart Hurricanes in the Big Bash League (BBL) in Australia instead of the ongoing domestic tournament in the subcontinent nation.
A senior official within the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) team stated that Malik flew to Australia without any permission whatsoever.
“He has gone at a time when we thought he was injured and not available to play,” the official told PTI. “But now we find that he is playing in the Big Bash today while his team is struggling in the ongoing domestic President’s Cup tournament.”
Another official noted that PIA desperately need Malik since he is a veteran all-rounder who has played numerous games at the international level.
“I think senior players like Malik have to decide where their loyalties lie because PIA needs him now in the President’s Cup,” the official said. “Let us see what he has to say before any final disciplinary action is taken against him.”
