Afghanistan will play an unconfirmed number of Twenty20 Internationals and one ODI against Zimbabwe
Afghanistan are set to play their first series against a Full Member nation after Zimbabwe announced they will host them for an unconfirmed number of Twenty20 Internationals and one ODI starting on January 28, 2014.
Afghanistan will pay their own expenses during the tour as Zimbabwe have been in a financial crisis for the past couple of months.
Zimbabwe have played against Bangladesh, India and Pakistan this year, but had to cancel their series against Sri Lanka due to their financial problems.
Afghanistan will be looking to make the most of this opportunity after qualifying for both the 2014 World Twenty20 and 2015 International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cup.
Afghanistan will also be receiving numerous donations from the ICC, starting with a $1 million to help with their preparations for the 2015 World Cup.
They are also set to receive $750,000 next year via the ICC Development Funding Policy.
