“I don’t care about what they say”
Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi has branded former captain Mohammad Yousuf and pace bowler Shoaib Akhtar as ‘heckle and jeckle’ after they criticised his performance during the national team’s recent limited overs tour of South Africa.
“I don’t care about what they say,” Afridi said. “But the way some of these experts behaved and acted as if the team never lost in their time. But to me comments from ‘heckle and jeckle’ and Mr Bean don’t make a difference.”
Yousuf and Akhtar slammed Afridi’s comments and attitude towards constructive criticism.
“We have also criticised Misbah-ul-Haq many times but look at his reaction and compare it to Afridi’s,” Akhtar said. “It shows the difference between the two.”
Yousuf was absolutely appalled at Afridi’s reaction, and said: “I have said it before, he is still like an immature child. Youngsters should not look up to Afridi as their role model.”
