“Tendulkar is adored almost as much in the UK as he is in India so it is only right that Parliament pays tribute to him”

Legendary India batsman Sachin Tendulkar has been honoured by the British Parliament for his dedication to cricket and for everything he has done, both on and off the pitch.

A motion was passed in the House of Commons which praised Tendulkar for his illustrious 24-year career and for being an ambassador to the game.

The Early Day Motion, which was put forth by Indian-born MP Keith Vaz, served as a reminder for all the sacrifices Tendulkar has made and for the millions of people he has inspired around the world.

“This motion is a fitting tribute to such an exceptional batsman,” Vaz said. “Tendulkar is adored almost as much in the UK as he is in India so it is only right that Parliament pays tribute to him.”
