“Being a cricket romantic I hope he produces a performance that is a fitting finale to an exceptional career”
Former South Africa pace bowler Shaun Pollock has become the latest cricketer to pay tribute to India batsman Sachin Tendulkar, stating that the ‘Little Master’ is “a true ambassador of the game”.
Tendulkar will retire from international cricket after his 200th Test match, which will come against the West Indies in his hometown of Mumbai.
“I think 200 Tests is an amazing achievement and Sachin has been a wonderful cricketer to watch and play against,” Pollock said via Twitter. “A true ambassador of the game.
“I wish Sachin well in his 200th game. Being a cricket romantic I hope he produces a performance that is a fitting finale to an exceptional career.”
Pollock also praised Tendulkar for his behaviour both on and off the field.
“Credit goes to him for the way he conducted himself under the weight of expectation and extra attention he has dealt with everyday in India,” Pollock said.
