Mumbai was initially the frontrunner to host the warm-up game
The West Indies’ three-day warm-up game against Uttar Pradesh has been moved from Cuttack to the Jadavpur University Complex in Kolkata.
The Odisha Cricket Association noted that the ground in Cuttack would not be able to host the warm-up match due to the heavy rain that has fallen over the region in the past week.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) working committee chose Kolkata as the new location during their meeting in Chennai today.
Despite Mumbai having initially been the frontrunner to host the warm-up game, the BCCI decided to move it to Kolkata since the West Indies’ first Test against India will be played at Eden Gardens, which is located in Kolkata, on November 6.
