“Playing in Australia is always a tremendous experience and the opportunity will allow me to play around the best players”
Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez has signed with the Melbourne Renegades for the upcoming Big Bash League (BBL) season.
However, Hafeez will not be available for the Renegades’ first two matches against the Melbourne Stars and Perth Scorchers due to international commitments.
This will be Hafeez’s first time playing in the BBL, which gets underway on December 20.
“I have agreed [to] a deal with Melbourne Renegades,” Hafeez told ESPNcricinfo. “Playing in Australia is always a tremendous experience and the opportunity will allow me to play around the best players. Since the 2015 World Cup will be in Australia, my stint will help me acquire ample acquaintance of Australian conditions.”
Hafeez is currently Pakistan’s Twenty20 captain and is the country’s highest scorer in the format with 1093 runs.
Since Hafeez took over as captain, Pakistan have won 12 out of their last 18 Twenty20 Internationals.
