The final day was abandoned due to heavy rain

Bangladesh and New Zealand had to settle for a 0-0 draw in their two-Test series after the final day of the second Test in Mirpur was abandoned due to heavy rain.

Bangladesh ended day four on 269/3 with batsman Mominul Haque unbeaten on 126 off 225 balls, which included 16 boundaries, and all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan undefeated on 32 off 53 deliveries, which included five boundaries.

However, the score stayed exactly the same as the persistent rain made it impossible for any cricket to be played.

The umpires regularly inspected the pitch, but at 2.06pm, they called off the match as the rain did not seem to be relenting at all.

Haque was named the Man of the Match for his brilliant century and the Man of the Series as well for scoring 376 runs in four innings at an incredible average of 188.
