This is Hales’ first stint at the number one spot
Pakistan Twenty20 captain Mohammad Hafeez has reclaimed his number one spot on the ODI all-rounders rankings after an outstanding series against Zimbabwe, while England opening batsman Alex Hales has topped the Twenty20 batsman rankings following his scintillating performance against Australia.
Hafeez scored 232 runs and snapped up two wickets in the three ODIs Pakistan played against Zimbabwe, while Hales smashed 94 runs in the second Twenty20 International against Australia at Durham to replace New Zealand wicketkeeper-batsman Brendon McCullum atop the rankings.
So far this year, Hafeez has taken 14 wickets and accumulated 732 runs, which includes two centuries, at an average of 40.66.
Hales meanwhile fell six runs short of becoming the first English batsman to score a century in Twenty20 cricket.
He came agonisingly close in 2011 when he scored 99 against the West Indies before being clean bowled by pace bowler Ravi Rampaul.
