Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Umar Akmal has been ruled out of the national team’s upcoming tour of Zimbabwe after fainting and being rushed to hospital due to a suspected seizure.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have asked Akmal, who is currently representing the Barbados Tridents in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL), to return to Pakistan in order for him to be further examined by a neurologist.

The PCB also announced that Sarfaraz Ahmed will replace Akmal for the Zimbabwe series.
