A BATTING WITH BIMAL BREAKING REPORT: ICC want Pakistan to show more proof that security measures have been bolstered

Several Sri Lankan cricketers were injured in the ambush

The International Cricket Council (ICC) have requested Pakistan to show more proof that the security situation in the country is all under control before they authorise any international tours once again.

The ICC added that Pakistan would also need to bolster security and armed personnel when foreign teams come to visit as the consequences of having another attack, like the one in March 2009, would be severe.

As of right now, ICC chief executive David Richardson believes it is “premature” to say whether Pakistan have got their act together and whether they are ready to host an international game once again.

The attack referred to earlier was carried out by Pakistani militants against Sri Lanka, which left many national players injured, while several policemen and a van driver were killed in the ambush.

Bangladesh were set to be the first team to tour the country since the tragic event, but have called it off twice due to security concerns.

With that being said, the ICC released a statement in which they noted that it could still take a long time before Pakistan regain the trust of all international teams and hold a series on home soil.
