Prior believes the third Test victory against Sri Lanka was extremely important for England
England wicketkeeper, Matt Prior has announced that he feels the team’s win in the third Test against Sri Lanka, which ended the series as a 1-1 draw and kept the nation as the number one Test team in the rankings, was a huge boost for the squad as a whole.
Prior, also noted that if England had lost the third Test in Colombo, it would have been an incredibly disappointing winter period for the nation.
The Daily Express, quoted Prior as saying: “We only really realized when we won the game, just how important it was to stay at number one.”
“Looking forward to this summer the timing was just right in Colombo It was a tough winter, we didn’t play well – we know that – but then to get that win and level the series was massive,” he added.
England will be facing the West Indies in a home series, with the first Test match scheduled to begin on May 17 at Lord’s.
