Morkel hired Byleveld to investigate the murder of his close friend
South African all-rounder, Albie Morkel has hired the country’s best detective in an attempt to find out who killed his close friend, Louis Vorster last week.
Morkel, who is currently part of the Chennai Super Kings, left the Indian Premier League (IPL) last Saturday to attend the funeral of Vorster, who is also a former cricketer.
Morkel, was unavailable for comment after the announcement of him hiring a detective was made official.
The South African all-rounder, hired Piet Byleveld, who turned into a private detective after having a distinguished career in the South African Police Services.
Byleveld, told the Afrikaans daily Beeld that Morkel had indeed asked him to investigate the death of Vorster.
“If people ask me to assist, I will always do so,” Byleveld said.
Vorster, who was shot and killed in broad daylight near a gas station along a busy highway, also had a huge bag of money stolen from his vehicle.
With rumours starting to emerge that the hit on Vorster was planned, a close friend of his, claimed that the bag he had on him contained diamonds, while his wife, explained that he had been on his way to purchase some generators for the farm they both lived on.
