Russell has been ruled out of the Twenty20 series with a hamstring strain
West Indian all-rounder, Andre Russell, has been ruled out of the Twenty20 International series, against Australia, after suffering a hamstring strain.
The 23 year old, who was diagnosed with a minor, right lateral hamstring strain, played through the injury, during the ODI series.
Russell, has been a big factor to the West Indian squad, scoring 113 runs from just 111 deliveries through the ODI series, while also taking six wickets, with his best firgures being four wickets for 61 runs in the fifth and final ODI at St Lucia, at an outstanding average of 26.33.
However, there has been no word on who will replace him in Tuesday’s Twenty20 International, which is to be played at Beausejour.
But, the West Indies are to announce the squad for the upcoming Twenty20 International today.
