Legendary West Indies fast bowler Courtney Walsh admitted that Pakistan speedster Naseem Shah “has lost some pace”.
Naseem was once a first-choice bowler for Pakistan and was regarded as one of the country’s most exciting young talents. However, his recent performances have been somewhat inconsistent, and he has also had to deal with injuries.
During Pakistan’s T20I series against Sri Lanka, the 23-year-old took three wickets in two matches at an average of 21.33.
He followed that up with five wickets in four games in the ODI tri-series against Sri Lanka and England at an average of 39.60.
“Yes he has lost some pace, that’s obvious and evident… he’s not a young kid anymore,” Walsh told PakPassion.
Naseem has not been picked for Pakistan’s upcoming two-Test series against Sri Lanka, which will be held in Rawalpindi and Lahore from November 9 to 21.
