Pakistan batsman Sharjeel Khan: “I have worked very hard on my fitness and cricket, I am looking for an opportunity to play for my country and I am always ready”

Pakistan batsman Sharjeel Khan said he has been waiting for his opportunity to play international cricket again.
The 37-year-old last represented his country in August 2021, but has been active on the domestic circuit this year.
To ensure he is ready for the demands of modern-day cricket, Sharjeel has worked hard on his fitness and further developing his game.
“I have worked very hard on my fitness and cricket, I am looking for an opportunity to play for my country and I am always ready,” he was quoted as saying by journalist Arfa Feroz Zake on X.
Sharjeel played in this year’s Pakistan Super League (PSL) and amassed 53 runs in two matches for the Hyderabad Kingsmen, which included a top score of 51 not out, at an average of 53 and a strike-rate of 170.96.
He is now in action for Ghani in the President’s Trophy Grade-I, which is Pakistan’s first-class competition.
In the match against Khan Research Laboratories, he made scores of 59 and 44.
Sharjeel did even better in Ghani’s clash against Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited as he smashed 156 runs off 120 balls in the first innings, which included 25 boundaries and five sixes.
