Former quick Mohammad Asif said he sees “great potential” in Ali Raza and believes the young fast bowler can “serve Pakistan for 10 to 12 years”.

Asif praised the aggressive way the 18-year-old bowls but stressed that Raza needs to be utilised properly.

Raza was recently in action in the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and took 10 wickets in five matches for the Peshawar Zalmi at an average of 16.80 and an economy rate of 9.78.

“The way he is bowling aggressively shows great potential. If used properly, he can serve Pakistan for 10 to 12 years,” Asif was quoted as saying by Khel Shel.

Raza was not picked for Pakistan’s recent two-Test series against the West Indies, which ended as a 1-1 draw.

The men in green will now play three Tests against England from August 19 to September 13.
