Rashid Latif: “The way Salman Ali Agha sets the bowling, I’m telling you, even if you gave him Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, or Shoaib Akhtar, he’d still find a way to lose with them too”

Former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Rashid Latif has strongly criticised T20I captain Salman Ali Agha’s bowling tactics, claiming he would still lose matches even with the legendary pace trio of Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis and Shoaib Akhtar at his disposal.
Latif went further, stating that Salman would be unable to win even if he had iconic spinners Shane Warne, Muttiah Muralitharan, Abdul Qadir and Saqlain Mushtaq in his ranks.
Salman’s captaincy has come under mounting pressure, particularly after Pakistan’s campaign in the 2026 T20 World Cup.
“The way Salman Ali Agha sets the bowling, I’m telling you, even if you gave him Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, or Shoaib Akhtar, he’d still find a way to lose with them too,” Latif was quoted as saying by TOK Sports.
“Give him Shane Warne, give him Abdul Qadir, give him (Muttiah) Muralitharan, give him Saqlain (Mushtaq), he’ll still make you lose.”
