Mohammad Hafeez: “Saim is being given chances despite failures”

Former Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Hafeez has questioned how many chances batting all-rounder Saim Ayub will continue to receive despite repeated failures.
Hafeez was particularly referring to Ayub’s performances in T20Is, where he averages 21.27 with the bat and has registered six fifties in 67 matches.
With the ball, the 24-year-old has taken 29 wickets at an average of 22.27 and an economy rate of 7.17.
However, given that Ayub is primarily in the side for his batting, Hafeez believes he is not doing enough at present to justify his place in the team.
“Saim is being given chances despite failures,” he was quoted as saying by journalist Farid Khan on X.
Pakistan are now preparing for a two-Test series against the West Indies, which will take place in Trinidad and Tobago from July 25 to August 6.
After that, they will head to England for a three-Test series from August 19 to September 13.
