Pakistan batsman Sahibzada Farhan has attributed his success at the international level to years of playing domestic cricket.
Farhan has emerged as a key member of Pakistan’s T20I side and has been their standout performer in the format over the past few months.
In addition, the 30-year-old is beginning to receive more opportunities in ODI cricket as well.
“I don’t miss a match in domestic cricket and doing well in domestic cricket for the last four odd years helped me. It’s the result of consistent hard work in domestic cricket back home in Pakistan,” he was quoted as saying by NDTV.
Farhan was the top run-scorer in the 2026 T20 World Cup, where he amassed 383 runs in seven matches, which included two centuries and two fifties, at an average of 76.60 and a strike-rate of 160.25.
He then finished as the joint fifth-highest run-scorer in the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL), amassing 380 runs in 10 games for the Multan Sultans, which included a hundred and two half-centuries, at an average of 42.22 and a strike-rate of 166.66.
Farhan returned to international duty after the PSL and made 37 runs in three ODIs against Australia at an average of 12.33.
Pakistan will now take on the West Indies in a two-Test series in Trinidad and Tobago from July 25 to August 6.
Following that, they will travel to England for a three-Test series from August 19 to September 13.
