Aaron Finch on Usman Tariq: “The big pause in the action, I don’t have any issue with that. It’s just a part of the game that you have to adapt to if you’re a batter. So, game on”

Former Australia opener Aaron Finch has said he has no issue with Pakistan spinner Usman Tariq’s bowling action.
Tariq has attracted significant attention for the way he bowls, particularly the pause in his delivery stride.
However, Finch noted that it is fair game, especially as Tariq’s action has been deemed legal.
“The big pause in the action, I don’t have any issue with that. It’s just a part of the game that you have to adapt to if you’re a batter. So, game on,” he was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.
Tariq recently played for Warwickshire in the 2026 Vitality Blast in England and took 16 wickets in 11 matches at an average of 16 and an economy rate of 6.09.
Since Tariq has only been used in T20Is for Pakistan, he was not picked for their two-Test series against the West Indies, which will take place in Trinidad and Tobago from July 25 to August 6.
After that, the men in green will play three Tests against England from August 19 to September 13.
