Mohammad Amir has applauded fellow Pakistan left-arm seamer Salman Mirza, saying he is in form and delivering every opportunity he gets.
Mirza has become a key member of Pakistan’s T20I squad and has taken 23 wickets in 17 matches at an average of 16.13 and an economy rate of 6.43.
However, he endured a difficult 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL) campaign, managing just three wickets in six games for Islamabad United at an average of 79 and an economy rate of 11.85.
Despite that, Amir said he has been impressed with what the 32-year-old has achieved so far.
“I’ve been saying for a while, Salman Mirza, your in-form bowler, has been performing since the first match. In every series, whenever he got a chance, he delivered,” he said on Geo News programme Haarna Mana Hai.
After the PSL, Pakistan played two Tests against Bangladesh and three ODIs against Australia, but Mirza did not feature in both series.
Next up for the men in green will be two Tests against the West Indies in Trinidad and Tobago from July 25 to August 6.
After that, Pakistan will tour England for three Tests, which will be held between August 19 and September 13.
