Pakistan T20I captain Salman Ali Agha said spinner Usman Tariq is an X-factor for the team and will be used whenever necessary.

Tariq has represented the men in green in nine T20Is to date and claimed 18 wickets at an average of 11.16 and an economy rate of 6.66.

Tariq’s bowling action has attracted plenty of attention ever since he started making a name of himself, with many people questioning whether his action is legitimate. However, Salman cannot understand why people continue to talk about it, especially since Tariq’s action has already been cleared twice.

“I don’t understand why there is so much talk about his action. His action has already been cleared twice. Usman Tariq is an X-factor for us, and we will use him whenever we feel we need him,” he was quoted as saying by A Sports.

Tariq is currently in action for Warwickshire in the 2026 Vitality Blast in England and has picked up 16 wickets in 11 matches at an average of 16 and an economy rate of 6.09.

The Pakistan team, meanwhile, lost 2-0 to Bangladesh in a two-Test series before bouncing back to defeat Australia 2-1 in an ODI series.

Next up for the men in green will be two Tests against the West Indies, which will take place in Trinidad and Tobago from July 25 to August 6.

After that, they will head to England for three Tests from August 19 to September 13.
