Former Pakistan cricketer Yasir Hameed firmly believes Babar Azam can score at least 10 more centuries in ODI cricket.

Hameed’s prediction comes after Azam’s unbeaten 102 during Pakistan’s three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka in November 2025 – an innings that marked the 31-year-old’s first international century in more than two years.

The knock proved to be a crucial turning point for Azam, who had been under mounting scrutiny following an extended run of poor form. With that pressure-relieving hundred, he not only silenced his critics but also signaled the beginning of a potential return to peak form.

“He can go very far ahead from everyone, he can still score 10 centuries at least,” Hameed told PakPassion.

Azam was recently in action for Pakistan in the 2026 T20 World Cup, where he only managed to make 91 runs in six matches at an average of 22.75 and a strike-rate of 112.34.

Following that, he didn’t take part in Pakistan’s three-match ODI series against Bangladesh.

Azam bounced back brilliantly from his poor showing in the T20 World Cup as the Peshawar Zalmi were crowned champions of the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL) under his captaincy.

He played a big role in leading the team to the title as he was the tournament’s top run-scorer with 588 runs in 11 games, which included two centuries and three fifties, at an average of 73.50 and a strike-rate of 145.90.

Azam will be looking to maintain that momentum when Pakistan travel to Bangladesh for two Tests in Mirpur and Sylhet from May 8 to 20.
