Pakistan spinner Usman Tariq has revealed that it is his dream to “single-handedly win a match against India,” a statement that reflects his ambition and competitive spirit ahead of a potential high-stakes clash.
India and Pakistan only meet at ICC tournaments, making their encounters some of the most anticipated matches in world cricket.
The two sides are set to face off at the 2026 T20 World Cup on February 15 in Colombo. Should Tariq earn a place in the playing XI, he will have the perfect chance to make his dream come true.
“Honestly, my dream is to single-handedly win a match against India,” the 28-year-old was quoted as saying by PakPassion on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The men in green began their T20 World Cup campaign in shaky fashion as they managed to secure a three-wicket win over the Netherlands.
They looked a lot more comfortable against the United States of America as they walked away with a 32-run win. In that match, Tariq recorded figures of 3-27 off his four overs.
Having secured back-to-back wins, Pakistan will look to make it three in a row when they go up against India.
