Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan has revealed that veteran batsman Fakhar Zaman advised him “not to be relaxed”, reminding him that in international cricket, anyone can be replaced at any time.
Farhan has established himself as a regular in the Pakistan T20I side through a series of consistent performances. However, he endured a tough time in the recent T20I series against Australia, scoring only five runs in two matches at an average of 2.50.
Aware of the fierce competition for places and determined to maintain his place in the line-up, Farhan said he continues to keep Zaman’s words in mind.
“He told me not to be relaxed. He said, ‘There are people behind you who can replace you at any time’,” the 29-year-old was quoted as saying by PakPassion on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Farhan is now in action in the 2026 T20 World Cup and started his campaign by scoring 47 runs in Pakistan’s three-wicket win over the Netherlands in Colombo.
The men in green’s next match will be against the United States of America on February 10 in Colombo.
