Pakistan T20I captain Agha Salman has expressed strong confidence in all-rounders Mohammad Nawaz and Faheem Ashraf, insisting he will always make full use of their abilities whenever they are part of the squad.
He noted that the duo are “complete all-rounders” and bring plenty of advantages as they can bowl four overs in T20Is and have an impact with the bat as well.
Nawaz is a regular face for the men in green in limited overs cricket, while Faheem has also been utilised more often as of late.
“Mohammad Nawaz and Faheem Ashraf are complete all-rounders; both bowl their full four overs and bat right through. If Pakistan has all-rounders like these at their disposal, why not make use of both of them,” Salman was quoted as saying by journalist Arfa Feroz Zake on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Pakistan are now taking on Australia in a three-match T20I series in Lahore, which they lead 2-0.
In the first two games, Nawaz took two wickets at an average of 18 and an economy rate of six. He has also scored 24 runs.
As for Faheem, he didn’t bat or bowl in the 2nd T20I, which is the only game he has played.
The 3rd T20I between Pakistan and Australia will be held on February 1.
Once the series concludes, Pakistan will feature in the 2026 T20 World Cup. Their first match will be against the Netherlands on February 7 in Colombo.
