Rashid Latif: “His performance in ODIs is world-class”

Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif has lauded opener Saim Ayub for his performance in ODI cricket, calling it “world-class”.
Ayub has featured in 17 ODIs to date and scored 751 runs, which includes three centuries and three fifties, at an average of 46.93.
Recently, the 23-year-old had a strong showing in Pakistan’s three-match ODI series against South Africa as he racked up 169 runs, which included two fifties, at an average of 56.33.
Although he couldn’t maintain that momentum against Sri Lanka – managing only 39 runs in two ODIs at an average of 19.50 – Latif remains deeply impressed by his progress.
“His performance in ODIs is world-class,” he said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Ayub recently took part in Pakistan’s T20I tour of Sri Lanka, where he mustered 30 runs in two matches at an average of 15 and a strike-rate of 130.43.
The men in green will be back in action soon as they will take on Australia in a three-match T20I series in Lahore from January 29 to February 1.
