Former Pakistan captain Moin Khan has urged batsman Babar Azam to “show courage” and take criticism in a positive manner.
Moin acknowledged that Azam “is a good player”, but the 31-year-old has been falling short of expectations for quite some time as his runs have dried up.
However, things have gone well for the Lahore native lately as he put up scores of 50 and 68 in the Test and T20I series against South Africa respectively.
He then proceeded to score 102 not out in the ODI series against Sri Lanka, which was his first international century since August 2023.
As for the T20I tri-series against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe, Azam had a top score of 74 against Zimbabwe.
“Babar Azam is a good player but he has to show courage. Criticism will come and he has to take the criticism positively,” Moin was quoted as saying by Khel Shel on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Azam did not feature in Pakistan’s T20I tour of Sri Lanka, but is currently playing in the Big Bash League (BBL), where he has scored 154 runs in eight matches for the Sydney Sixers, which includes two half-centuries, at an average of 25.66 and a strike-rate of 104.05.
