Legendary left-arm seamer Wasim Akram has slammed the Pakistan team for not focusing enough on their fitness.
Wasim has been aware of the problem for two years, but pointed out that nothing has really been done to rectify it.
Due to this, the men in green have been suffering as their fitness levels have let them down.
“I haven’t talked much about this yet, and I don’t have any inside news, but I knew about it two years ago – cricketers aren’t focusing enough on their fitness,” the Sultan of Swing was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Pakistan recently took on South Africa on home soil and began by drawing the two-Test series 1-1 before triumphing 2-1 in the T20Is and ODIs that followed.
Next up was a three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, which the men in green won 3-0.
Pakistan then took on Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in a T20I tri-series, which they ended up winning as well.
