Mike Hesson: “I certainly endorse his selection, and he is likely to bat at number three, and I am hoping that he will do well”

Pakistan white-ball head coach Mike Hesson said he endorsed the decision to recall batsman Babar Azam in T20Is.
Azam had been out of the T20I team for some time, with many believing it was due to his slow scoring rate.
The 31-year-old’s first T20I assignment upon returning was a three-match series against South Africa, where he made 79 runs, which included a top score of 68, at an average of 39.50 and a strike-rate of 117.91.
Most recently, Azam was involved in a T20I tri-series against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe, and amassed 127 runs in five matches, which included a top score of 74, at an average of 31.75 and a strike-rate of 112.38.
Having done well so far, Hesson is confident the Lahore native will keep repaying the faith shown in him.
“I certainly endorse his selection, and he is likely to bat at number three, and I am hoping that he will do well,” he was quoted as saying by A Sports.
Azam is now featuring in the Big Bash League (BBL), where he has made 69 runs in three games for the Sydney Sixers, which includes a top score of 58, at an average of 23 and a strike-rate of 121.05.
