Former Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja said middle order batsman Kamran Ghulam has the ability to dominate spin bowling as he has done this “throughout his first-class career”.
Ghulam had been a familiar face in the Test team ever since making his debut against England in October 2024, where he struck a magnificent 118.
He also went on to represent Pakistan in ODIs too. He made quite an impact in the 50-over format as he scored a career-best 103 against Zimbabwe and made 63 against South Africa as well.
However, Ghulam seems to have fallen out of favour in both Test and ODI cricket, as Pakistan have chosen to back other players instead.
Given the start he had to international cricket, Ramiz feels the 30-year-old is a good option if Pakistan need a batsman who can handle himself against spinners.
“He can dominate spin as he’s done that throughout his first-class career,” Ramiz was quoted as saying by TOK Sports on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Pakistan recently took on South Africa at home and began by drawing the Test series 1-1 before beating the Proteas 2-1 in both the T20Is and ODIs.
They then whitewashed Sri Lanka 3-0 in an ODI series before winning a T20I tri-series that included Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.
