Former Australia cricketer Tom Moody has lauded Pakistan batsman Fakhar Zaman, saying he is “a real impact player at the top of the order.”

Zaman showcased his batting skills at the 2025 Asia Cup, where he finished as Pakistan’s second-highest run-scorer with 181 runs in seven matches, which included a top score of 50, at an average of 30.16 and a strike-rate of 120.66.

The men in green then took on South Africa at home, but Zaman did not take part in both the Test and T20I series.

He did, however, feature in the three ODIs that were played and scored 45 runs at an average of 15.

“He is a real impact player at the top of the order,” Moody was quoted as saying by PakPassion on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Pakistan are already back in action as they are facing Sri Lanka in a three-match ODI series, where Zaman has amassed 110 runs in two games, which includes a top score of 78, at an average of 55.

After the ODIs are done, they will compete in a T20I tri-series alongside Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe from November 18 to 29.
