Iconic Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has called out the decisions made by white-ball head coach Mike Hesson, asking “where are his brains?”
Akhtar believes that Pakistan’s 2025 Asia Cup campaign was marked by “senseless coaching and senseless selection of the team.”
Reflecting on the men in green’s underwhelming form over the past few months, the Rawalpindi Express confessed he is beginning to feel “like I am the one who is a fraud.”
“The coach should be asked the questions – where are his brains? It is just senseless coaching and senseless selection of the team. It is beyond me – it feels like I am the one who is a fraud, who doesn’t understand a thing after playing 15 years of cricket,” he said on Tapmad as quoted by NDTV.
Pakistan are now hosting South Africa and drew 1-1 with them in the two-Test series.
The men in green and Proteas then clashed in a three-match T20I series, which Pakistan won 2-1.
Next up will be three ODIs, which will take place between November 4 and 8.
Following this, Pakistan will play three ODIs against Sri Lanka from November 11 to 15, and then participate in a T20I tri-series featuring Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe between November 17 and 29.
