Former Pakistan left-arm seamer Wasim Akram has been very impressed with batsman Hasan Nawaz’s performances as of late.
Nawaz has become one of the new superstars of Pakistan cricket as he bats aggressive and has been scoring runs consistently.
During the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL), he finished as the third-highest run-scorer with 399 runs in 12 matches for the Quetta Gladiators, which included a century and three fifties, at an average of 57 and a strike-rate of 162.19.
“Hasan Nawaz impressed during the PSL,” Wasim was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
After PSL 10, Nawaz continued to dominate as he made T20I half-centuries against Bangladesh and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
He also had an immediate impact in his ODI debut, smashing 63 not out against the West Indies, which came off 54 balls and included five boundaries and three sixes.
Unfortunately, Nawaz saw his form dip during the 2025 Asia Cup as he was restricted to 17 runs in three games at an average of 5.66 and a strike-rate of 65.38.
Pakistan will now host South Africa for two Tests, three T20Is, and three ODIs, which will take place from October 12 to November 8.
