Harbhajan Singh: “Pakistan’s team seems to be a little weak. Because apart from Babar and Rizwan, there is no other batsman in that team”

Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh has taken a shot at Pakistan’s batting line-up, saying the men in green only have two recognisable batsmen in Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan.
Azam and Rizwan have been Pakistan’s most consistent run-scorers for years, with both players having delivered numerous match-winning performances.
Despite this, both of them haven’t been part of Pakistan’s recent T20I assignments, which included the three-match series against Bangladesh in Lahore, the T20I tour of Bangladesh, the T20I series against the West Indies, and the T20I tri-series against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Afghanistan.
They also failed to make the cut for the 2025 Asia Cup, where the men in green reached the final before losing to India.
In fact, the only series Azam and Rizwan featured in was the three ODIs between Pakistan and the West Indies in Trinidad.
Azam amassed 56 runs at an average of 18.66, while Rizwan struck 69 runs, which included a top score of 53, at an average of 23.
“Pakistan’s team seems to be a little weak. Because apart from Babar and Rizwan, there is no other batsman in that team,” Harbhajan was quoted as saying by A Sports.
Next up for Pakistan will be a home series against South Africa from October 12 to November 8.
The series will consist of two Tests, three T20Is, and three ODIs.
Pakistan squad for South Africa Test series: Shan Masood (captain), Aamer Jamal, Abdullah Shafique, Abrar Ahmed, Asif Afridi, Babar Azam, Faisal Akram, Hasan Ali, Imam-ul-Haq, Kamran Ghulam, Khurram Shahzad, Mohammad Rizwan (wicketkeeper), Noman Ali, Rohail Nazir (wicketkeeper), Sajid Khan, Salman Ali Agha, Saud Shakeel and Shaheen Shah Afridi
