Mudassar Nazar: “Dropping Babar and Rizwan was a wrong decision”

Former Pakistan cricketer Mudassar Nazar believes dropping batsmen Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan for the 2025 Asia Cup was the “wrong decision”.
Azam and Rizwan haven’t been part of Pakistan’s T20I team for many months, which led to them missing the three-match series against Bangladesh in Lahore, the T20I tour of Bangladesh, the T20I series against the West Indies, and the T20I tri-series against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Afghanistan.
Nazar feels the men in green needed the duo for the Asia Cup, given their status as two of Pakistan’s most accomplished T20I batsmen.
“Dropping Babar and Rizwan was a wrong decision,” he told PakPassion.
The men in green made it to the final of the Asia Cup, but couldn’t get their hands on the trophy as they lost to India by five wickets.
Next up for Pakistan will be a home series against South Africa, which will comprise two Tests, three T20Is, and three ODIs.
The series will be played from October 12 to November 8.
