Mike Hesson: “He has added power-hitting value at number six or seven”

Pakistan white-ball head coach Mike Hesson said all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz “has added power-hitting value at number six or seven”.
Nawaz has been fantastic with the bat since making his international return as he has played a number of handy knocks lower down the order.
During Pakistan’s T20I tri-series against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Afghanistan, he struck 120 runs at an average of 30 and a strike-rate of 133.33.
He also took 10 wickets, which included a career-best five-wicket haul, at an average of 11.70 and an economy rate of 6.88.
“He has added power-hitting value at number six or seven,” Hesson was quoted as saying by A Sports.
After the T20I tri-series, Nawaz was in action in the 2025 Asia Cup and scored 113 runs in seven games at an average of 18.83 and a strike-rate of 136.14.
On top of that, he snapped up two wickets at an average of 43.50 and an economy rate of 7.25.
Pakistan made it to the Asia Cup final, but were unable to get their hands on the trophy as India defeated them by five wickets.
The men in green will now host South Africa for two Tests, three T20Is, and three ODIs, which will take place from October 12 to November 8.
