Former Pakistan fast bowler Abdur Rauf wants top order batsman Sahibzada Farhan to be given “consistent chances” as he is a “great talent”.
Farhan has displayed considerable promise in recent months and appears to have secured his spot in the T20I team.
During the T20I tri-series against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Afghanistan, the 29-year-old from Charsadda made 63 runs in five matches at an average of 12.60 and a strike-rate of 150.
He fared a lot better in the 2025 Asia Cup as he was Pakistan’s highest run-scorer with 217 runs in seven games, which included two fifties, at an average of 31 and a strike-rate of 116.04.
“Sahibzada Farhan is also a great talent but needs consistent chances [on] true pitches,” Rauf was quoted as saying by Khel Shel on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Pakistan made it to the final of the Asia Cup before losing to India by five wickets.
The men in green will be back in action soon as they will host South Africa for two Tests, three T20Is, and three ODIs.
The series is scheduled to be played between October 12 and November 8.
