Mohammad Hafeez: “If we look at the past year-and-a-half to two years, the players showing consistent performance are Salman Ali Agha, Saim Ayub, and Hasan Nawaz”

Former Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez has selected T20I captain Salman Ali Agha, opening batsman Saim Ayub and middle order big-hitter Hasan Nawaz as the three players who have performed consistently for the past one-and-a-half to two years.
Salman’s highlights as of late include T20I fifties against Bangladesh and Afghanistan, while Ayub made two T20I half-centuries against the West Indies and one against the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
As for Nawaz, he struck T20I fifties against Bangladesh and the UAE, while also hammering an unbeaten 63 in his ODI debut against the West Indies.
“If we look at the past year-and-a-half to two years, the players showing consistent performance are Salman Ali Agha, Saim Ayub, and Hasan Nawaz,” Hafeez was quoted as saying by A Sports.
Pakistan recently took part in the 2025 Asia Cup, which was held in the UAE.
Salman amassed 72 runs in seven games at an average of 12 and a strike-rate of 80.89, while Ayub made 37 runs in seven games at an average of 5.28 and a strike-rate of 97.36.
Nawaz, meanwhile, finished with 17 runs in three matches at an average of 5.66 and a strike-rate of 65.38.
Pakistan triumphed over Oman and the UAE in the group stage, but lost to India as well.
They were defeated by India again in the Super Four, but bounced back to beat Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, which earned them a spot in the final.
Facing India in the Asia Cup final, it was not third time lucky for Pakistan as they ended up losing by five wickets.
Pakistan’s next assignment will be a home series against South Africa, which will consist of two Tests, three T20Is, and three ODIs to be played from October 12 to November 8.
