Australia opening batsman Sam Konstas is excited to play alongside Pakistan T20I vice-captain Shadab Khan in the Big Bash League (BBL).

Shadab was signed by the Sydney Thunder for BBL 15, which is scheduled to take place from December 14 to January 25, 2026.

Knowing that the 26-year-old is an outstanding all-rounder who can have a major impact with both the bat and ball, Konstas called it a very good signing.

“It’s a very exciting year, we’ve got a young group and have very good signings, like Lockie Ferguson, Sam Billings and Shadab Khan,” he was quoted as saying by PakPassion on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Shadab recently played in Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against Bangladesh in Lahore and took four wickets at an average of 16.25 and an economy rate of 7.22.

He also scored 55 runs at an average of 27.50 and a strike-rate of 157.14.

After this, he underwent shoulder surgery and missed the T20I tour of Bangladesh, the white-ball tour of the West Indies, and the T20I tri-series against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Afghanistan.

Shadab didn’t recover in time to feature in the ongoing 2025 Asia Cup, which is being played in the UAE.

Pakistan triumphed over Oman and the UAE in the group stage, but also lost to India.

They made it through to the Super Four, but are already on the back foot after falling to India once again.

The men in green will be back in action on September 23 when they take on Sri Lanka in Abu Dhabi.
