Pakistan powerhouse Hasan Nawaz said hitting sixes comes natural to him after demonstrating his big-hitting abilities time and time again.
Nawaz is one of the most exciting young talents in Pakistan cricket right now and is likely to become a key member of the ODI and T20I squads going forward.
The 23-year-old recently featured in the three-match T20I series against Bangladesh in Lahore and scored 121 runs at an average of 60.50 and a strike-rate of 198.36.
He followed that up with 33 runs during Pakistan’s three-match T20I tour of Bangladesh at an average of 11 and a strike-rate of 122.22.
Nawaz fared a lot better against the West Indies as he started off with 79 runs in three T20Is at an average of 26.33 and a strike-rate of 164.58.
The Islamabad native then made his ODI debut and struck 112 runs in three matches, which included a career-best knock of 63 not out, at an average of 112.
As for the T20I tri-series against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Afghanistan, he finished with 93 runs, which included a top score of 56, at an average of 18.60 and a strike-rate of 143.07.
Having hit 40 sixes in his international career thus far, Nawaz will no doubt be looking to add a lot more to that tally going forward.
“Hitting sixes comes natural to me,” he was quoted as saying by journalist Farid Khan on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Pakistan are now featuring in the 2025 Asia Cup, which is being played in the UAE.
So far, Nawaz has amassed 17 runs in three matches at an average of 5.66 and a strike-rate of 65.38.
The men in green began their campaign with a 93-run win over Oman before suffering a seven-wicket loss against India.
Despite that setback, they ended up making it to the Super Four stage with a 41-run win over the UAE.
Pakistan’s next match will be against India on September 21 in Dubai.
