Former Namibia cricketer David Wiese has lauded Pakistan rising star Jahandad Khan, calling him “a six-hitter” and a “quality all-rounder”.
Jahandad has represented Pakistan in eight T20Is to date and scored 29 runs at an average of 7.25 and a strike-rate of 85.29.
He has also taken seven wickets at an average of 30.14 and an economy rate of 11.72.
Jahandad played alongside Wiese for the Lahore Qalandars in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL), but didn’t score any runs or take any wickets in the two games he featured in.
Even though his statistics don’t make for great reading, Wiese insisted that the Rawalpindi native is a talented cricketer.
“Jahandad Khan is a quality all-rounder, which is why he played for Pakistan. He’s a six-hitter, he bowls well,” he was quoted as saying by PakPassion on X, formerly known as Twitter.
After PSL 10, Pakistan faced Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series in Lahore, which they won 3-0.
They then travelled to Bangladesh for another three-match T20I series, but lost 2-1.
Following back-to-back series against Bangladesh, the men in green toured the West Indies and came away with mixed results as they won the T20Is 2-1 but lost the ODIs 2-1.
Next up was the T20I tri-series against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Afghanistan in Sharjah, which they won.
Pakistan are now taking part in the 2025 Asia Cup, which is being played in the UAE.
The men in green started with a 93-run win over Oman before suffering a seven-wicket defeat at the hands of India.
Their next match will be against the UAE on September 17 in Dubai.
