Pakistan T20I captain Salman Ali Agha has shot down all the talk about his poor performance, saying it is “absolutely not true”.
Since becoming skipper, there is a greater onus on Salman to contribute with the bat.
During Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against Bangladesh in Lahore, he amassed 90 runs, which included a career-best knock of 56, at an average of 45 and a strike-rate of 155.17.
The men in green then toured Bangladesh for three T20Is and the 31-year-old struck 24 runs at an average of 12 and a strike-rate of 58.53.
After back-to-back series against Bangladesh, Pakistan travelled to the West Indies and Salman kicked off his campaign with 49 runs in three T20Is at an average of 49 and a strike-rate of 113.95.
As for the three-match ODI series, he finished with 62 runs at an average of 20.66.
Most recently, the men in green went up against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Afghanistan in a T20I tri-series in Sharjah, which they won.
In the five games he played, Salman made 109 runs, which included a top score of 53 not out, at an average of 27.25 and a strike-rate of 118.47.

Pakistan are now featuring in the 2025 Asia Cup, which is being held in the UAE.
