Haris Rauf sees 17-year-old fast bowler Ali Raza as “the future of Pakistan cricket”.
Raza has been stealing the spotlight for all the right reasons as he has constantly been a wicket-taking threat at the domestic level.
He had a very impressive campaign in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) as he claimed 12 wickets in nine matches for the Peshawar Zalmi at an average of 25.25 and an economy rate of 9.18.
Rauf noted that if the teenager keeps performing like this, the sky is the limit in regards to how far he can go.
“Ali Raza is the future of Pakistan cricket,” he told Samaa TV.
After PSL 10 ended, Pakistan went up against Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series and won 3-0.
They then travelled to Bangladesh for another three-match T20I series, but were beaten 2-1.
As for their tour of the West Indies, the men in green began by winning the T20I series 2-1 before suffering a 2-1 defeat in the ODIs.
Most recently, Pakistan took part in a T20I tri-series against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Afghanistan in Sharjah, which they won.
They will now be involved in the 2025 Asia Cup, which will be played in the UAE from September 9 to 28.
