Pakistan batsman Mohammad Haris is working on improving his game awareness as he is determined to perform better in different match situations.

Haris has been given another opportunity to cement his spot in the national team after a string of strong performances in domestic cricket.

Having shown a lot of promise, especially during Pakistan’s T20I series against Bangladesh in Lahore, where he made a century, the 24-year-old plans to keep working hard to get better.

“I’m working hard to improve my game awareness. Every cricketer needs to read the match situation and respond accordingly, and that’s something I’m trying to develop further,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.

Haris was recently involved in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he made 247 runs in 10 matches for the Peshawar Zalmi, which included a top score of 87, at an average of 27.44 and a strike-rate of 148.79.

He followed that up with 179 runs in three T20Is against Bangladesh, which included a career-best knock of 107 not out, at an average of 89.50 and a strike-rate of 201.12.

However, Haris’ form dipped during the tour of Bangladesh as he mustered nine runs in three T20Is at an average of three and a strike-rate of 50.

Things didn’t get much better during the tour of the West Indies as he amassed 12 runs in three T20Is at an average of six and a strike-rate of 133.33.

After the T20I series, Pakistan and the West Indies played three ODIs, but Haris wasn’t part of the playing XI for all the matches.

The men in green are now playing a T20I tri-series against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Afghanistan in Sharjah, which will finish on September 7.

In four matches, Haris has scored 31 runs at an average 7.75 and a strike-rate of 86.11.

After the T20I tri-series, Pakistan will be involved in the 2025 Asia Cup, which will be held in the UAE from September 9 to 28.
