New Zealand batsman Kane Williamson admitted Pakistan power-hitter Fakhar Zaman is an “incredibly dangerous player”.

He knows the kind of damage the 35-year-old is capable of inflicting as he has seen it for himself.

Despite being a lethal batsman who can change the outcome of games single-handedly, Williamson praised Zaman for being a “great guy”.

“He’s an incredibly dangerous player and a great guy,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.

Zaman recently played in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he finished as the second-highest run-scorer with 439 runs in 13 matches for the Lahore Qalandars, which included four fifties, at an average of 33.76 and a strike-rate of 152.96.

After PSL 10, he featured in Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against Bangladesh and mustered one run in the one match he played.

He then toured Bangladesh with the men in green and struck 52 runs in two T20Is at an average of 26 and a strike-rate of 123.80.

As for the tour of the West Indies, the Mardan native was picked for two T20Is again and accumulated 48 runs at an average of 24 and a strike-rate of 111.62.

Pakistan and the West Indies then played a three-match ODI series, but Zaman was not included in the playing XI for any of the games.

The men in green are now involved in a T20I tri-series against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Afghanistan in Sharjah, which will conclude on September 7.

In three matches, Zaman has scored 51 runs at an average of 17 and a strike-rate of 121.42.

After the T20I tri-series, Pakistan will take part in the 2025 Asia Cup, which will be held in the UAE from September 9 to 28.
