
Ali Raza: “I want to give my absolute best for the country. Babar Azam supported me a lot during the PSL”

Pakistan seamer Ali Raza is grateful for all the support he has received from star batsman Babar Azam.
He played alongside Azam while the latter captained the Peshawar Zalmi in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL).
In PSL 10, Raza showed why there is so much hype around him as he took 12 wickets in nine matches at an average of 25.25 and an economy rate of 9.18.
Having put up many strong performances in domestic cricket, the 17-year-old will no doubt be looking to make his international debut soon.
“I want to give my absolute best for the country. Babar Azam supported me a lot during the PSL,” he was quoted as saying by Geo Super.
After PSL 10 concluded, Pakistan faced Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series in Lahore and triumphed 3-0.
They then travelled to Bangladesh to play three T20Is, but were beaten 2-1.
As for their white-ball tour of the West Indies, Pakistan started off with a 2-1 win in the T20I series before suffering a 2-1 loss in the ODIs.
The men in green are now taking on the the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Afghanistan in a T20I tri-series in Sharjah, which will finish on September 7.
After that, they will be involved in the 2025 Asia Cup, which will be played in the UAE from September 9 to 28.
